Packed is a packing app. Your trips, your lists and what you have learned about your own packing belong to you. This page says plainly what stays on your phone, what goes to your own iCloud, and the few things that leave both.
No advertising, no data sale: we do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
On your device first: trips, packing lists, looks, your own items and categories are stored on your iPhone.
Your own iCloud: with Packed Pro, a backup is kept in your private iCloud database. We cannot read it.
Only what you share is public: a trip you choose to share is readable by anyone who has the link.
Packed does not ask for your contacts, your photo library or your continuous location.
With a Packed Pro subscription, the app keeps a backup of the data above in your private iCloud database through Apple CloudKit, so a new phone can pick up where the old one left off. It is stored under your Apple Account, protected by Apple's security, and we have no access to it. Turning Pro off stops new backups; removing the data is described in section 8.
When you tap "Share this trip", Packed publishes that trip to a shared area of the app's CloudKit database and gives you a link. This is the one part of Packed that is readable without your Apple Account, because the point is that the person you send it to can open it.
Do not put anything in a trip name, item name or note that you would not want the recipient, or anyone they forward the link to, to read.
To show a forecast and suggest what the weather calls for, Packed converts your destination's name into coordinates and asks Apple WeatherKit about those coordinates. That is the place you typed, not where you are. Packed does not request or store your device's location.
Packed uses Google Firebase for two things.
These reports are tied to a Firebase installation identifier, not to your name or email.
Packed Pro is sold by Apple through StoreKit, with receipt validation by RevenueCat, Inc. We never see your card number, bank details or billing address. Apple and RevenueCat use an anonymous app user identifier to tell the app whether a subscription is active.
If you allow them, Packed schedules a reminder the evening before a trip. Reminders are created and delivered on your device; nothing is sent through a server, and you can turn them off in Settings inside the app or in iOS Settings.
Packed is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
